Amazon.com Live in Reno is a solid overview of an admirable career, even if this Gordon Lightfoot is not what he once was. The singer-songwriter, 61 when the 90-minute show was recorded in April 2000, looks gaunt, and his distinctive voice is on the frail side. Still, he has accumulated a remarkable catalog of material over the course of some four decades, and nearly all of the biggies are among the 22 songs performed here by Lightfoot and his four-piece band, from the early classics popularized by other artists ("For Lovin' Me," "Early Morning Rain") to his own best-known hits ("If You Could Read My Mind," "Sundown," "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald"). There are no theatrics or flashy production values, just a group of middle-aged men playing their music--and playing it well. What an ExperienceSeptember 1, 2010 Rito I have been a Gordon Lightfoot fan for the last 20 years,those days i used to hear Lightfoot on cassettes,then came the CD's and now the DVD experience of this album was brilliant.Right from the time Gordon enters the stage,gives a smile at the audience and then listening to his performance was something you would love to cherish.All the songs sung are well chosen and specially the ballad "I will prove my love to you" was superb.Whenever I have time,I keep on playing this DVD and enjoy the scintillating experience.Truly rewarding.
Gordon Lightfoot - Live in RenoAugust 13, 2010 Stargazer I have always been fond of Gordon Lightfoot's early recordings. I purchased this DVD after viewing it on the local public broadcasting station that had aired it as a fundraiser support program. After viewing the local broadcast, I also subsequently purchased tickets to attend his local live performace in October. I enjoy his folk and ballad style and his voice still does come across well for audience entertainment! This is a GREAT purchase and I look forward to his upcoming concert.

Gorden Lightfoot is fantastic -- my whole family enjoys his songs and we have seen him in concert. This DVD, however, does a poor job. The picture quality is VHS quality and sound is so-so.
